Thank You For Your Contributions To The AFSCME Drive For School Supplies

A big thanks to everyone for helping out with AFSCME’s drive for school supplies! We had such an outpouring from everyone. The drive began on July 8 and went until July 31. We received donations of all types of school supplies. Specifically, the Coalition was looking for new back backs and binders, and calculators (new or used) – and boy did the Montgomery County community deliver! We collected a total of 85 backpacks and 74 binders! We also got an incredible response for all types of school supplies, including calculators, highlighters, composition books, spiral notebooks, notebook filler paper, crayons, pencils, glue sticks, scissors, etc. just to name some of the other items.

AFSCME Local 2380 and the Montgomery Coalition for the Homeless (http://www.mcch.net) thank everyone who donated or helped out!

Special thanks go to the following people and offices:
Gail Lantion (Germantown), Leslie Clark (OITB), Roger Marks (RV), Steve Wolf (MC Copies), Facilities and Security (all campuses) for their help with collections bins, and the Local 2380 Executive Board and members who worked on making this project happen – Karen Ambrose and Shannye Carroll (GBTC), Peggy LaRocca, Paula Ottinger, and Harold Williams (TP/SS), Debra Ritenour (40 WG), and Patti Secreto (RV).
